About Me!
Hi! My name is Caitlin Lohfeld, and I’m a NYC-based singer, dancer, and actress. I’m currently a junior at New York University pursuing a B.M. in Vocal Performance: Musical Theatre with a minor in Italian Studies (ciao!)
My musical journey began at age nine with a voice teacher who hadn’t encountered much music written after 1960, which explained why the Adele songbook I brought to my first lesson didn’t go over too well. I was exclusively assigned classics like “Caro mio ben” and “Ave maria,” which, with time, patience, and trust, sparked my genuine love for classical music. That strong classical foundation eventually led me to explore musical theatre, and now I’m proudly a cross-genre artist. With my flexibility and technique, I’m able to move seamlessly between styles and deliver a wide range of performances with authenticity and confidence.
I bring a bright, youthful energy to every role and approach my characters with sincerity, curiosity, and thoughtfulness. Often finding myself playing young ingenues, I strive to uncover the emotional depth beneath their innocence and vulnerability, aiming for performances that feel truthful and grounded.
In the rehearsal room, I bring a high level of musicianship and attentiveness, not just as a detail-oriented perfectionist, but through my strong proficiency in sight singing, aural training, and music theory. These skills allow me to learn material quickly and focus more on musicality, intention, and collaboration. Whether interpreting a classical aria or delving into a contemporary score, I bring storytelling, dedication, and genuine love to every project I take on.
Outside of the rehearsal room, I’m on a lifelong mission to perfect my curly hair routine, a relentless endeavor that is worthy of a spot on my resume at this point. I’m still searching for the best bowl of pho in NYC and can often be found binge-watching the latest period drama on Netflix. When I’m not exploring the city, I’m on the golf course refining my swing (and generously donating golf balls to the landscape) or spending time at my family’s farm in the Shenandoah Valley, where I enjoy gardening, forestry, and operating tractors and heavy equipment.
